Did You Know?
The Rice Lake area has long been a transportation route and retail hub. Over 10,000 years ago Native Americans harvested the wild rice here. Indian Mounds Park is located just behind the hospital.
Traders passed through on the water routes from Michigan's upper peninsula all the way down the Mississippi river. In fact, primitive tools made of copper from the Michigan mines have been found as far south as Venezuela!
Today Rice Lake is still a retail hub offering shopping, restaurants, and lodging unmatched in the area. |
